When We're Set Free But Still Want Egypt

In this message from our Pave the Way series through the book of Romans, we wrestle with a tension many of us know too well: being set free by God, yet still feeling drawn back to what once enslaved us.  

Romans 6 reminds us that through Jesus, we are no longer slaves to sin—but freedom doesn’t automatically mean we stop looking back. Just like Israel after leaving Egypt, we can find ourselves missing what was familiar, even when it was destructive.  

Why do we return to old patterns? Why does freedom sometimes feel harder than slavery? And what does it actually mean to live as people who have died to sin and been raised to new life?  This message invites honest reflection and a deeper surrender to the freedom God offers—a freedom that leads to life.
